God Is Always With Us
Last week was filled with daily reports about the coronavirus, fueling speculation and uncertainty that may take some time to sort out. As we await reports from Asia and elsewhere, we naturally turn to how the spread of disease may affect people around the world.
Moses knew that God was with him when he encountered Pharaoh during the plague of darkness. Eight epic disasters had happened to Egypt until the Pharaoh told Moses to “get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die.” Exodus 10:28) Despite this threat, Moses eventually was used by God to free the Israelites from the Pharaoh’s control. “By faith Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11: 27) Moses overcame Pharaoh by believing God would keep His promise of deliverance.
Today, we have a global problem and therefore cause to be anxious, but we also have a God who has promised to always be with us. God will be with us in every situation. We have brilliant scientists who will find a cure. We have medical facilities that will take care of the sick, and we have a God who will love us through this disease. My prayer is that the numbers will diminish. My prayer is also that many will be cured and free from quarantine. My prayer for you today is that the spirit will provide the courage you and I need to keep going, following God’s leading in our lives.
Prayer: Lord, help me to keep my eyes on You. Protect me, guide me and help me trust You in every situation! Amen!
Hebrews 11:27 – “By faith (Moses) left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger.”
