In Troubled Times, We Need Hope

I’m sure when you have the coronavirus and are placed in isolation, you feel completely alone. Cliff had his cell phone, and many of us texted every day and prayed. He told the doctor about how many were praying for him, and the doctor said this is the reason his lungs cleared. Cliff is now at home and is feeling much better. Yesterday, he called me and talked and talked.
In these times of uncertainty when we hear discouraging news, I thought you should hear Cliff’s story. Cliff’s story lifts me up because it shows there is hope! Cliff and his friends prayed for healing. The Lord heard these prayers, and Cliff was healed. Not everyone who gets the virus is healed, but we need to hear that not everyone who gets the virus dies. The news media tells us how bad it is, hour after hour. We are scared. and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. We have sleepless nights wondering if we or our family members will get this virus. We need to go to God’s word to find hope!
The Word says having faith in God opens the door for a miracle. Scripture tells us faith moves God to act. In II Corinthians 4:8-9, we read: “We’re experiencing all kinds of trouble, but we aren’t crushed. We are confused, but we aren’t depressed. We are harassed, but we aren’t abandoned. We are knocked down, but we aren’t knocked out.”
II Corinthians 5:20-21 urges us: “Be reconciled to God! God caused the one who didn’t know sin to be sin for our sake so that through him we could become the righteousness of God.”
We are praying for you at the Foundation and DevCo. Please pray for those with this terrible virus so that we can all “be reconciled to God!”
