Do You Hide From God?

Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and hid after eating from the Tree of Knowledge. I wonder if you and I today do the same thing! We may not eat the “forbidden fruit,” but we sin all the time. We say hurtful things, we do unloving things, and we sometimes tune God out of our lives completely.

Our world seems to be filled with terror and chaos. Whether it be mass shootings in a Jewish synagogue, bombs delivered to politicians or shootings in a school. We live in fear because we never know when tragedy will happen in our world. Can you imagine needing an armed guard in a worship service?

We all hide from God in one way or another. Adam and Eve hid because they knew they had sinned. Our hiding is part and parcel to our disobedience. And our disobedience is the direct cause of the breakdown within our society.

Pray with me that “we” of The United Methodist Church will stop hiding and allow Christ to fill our lives! Pray with me that all the people of the world will come to know Christ and stop hiding from God.

Psalm 84:2 – “My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.”
