In Every Way

At the age of 22, Nelson Bell became a surgeon at Love and Mercy Hospital in China. This was the only hospital in an area with more than two million people. Nelson performed surgeries there for 24 years and shared the gospel with thousands of people. Nelson became known as “The Bell Who Is Lover of the Chinese People.” Nelson had a daughter who would later marry the evangelist Billy Graham. Billy Graham is said to have preached to more people than anyone.

Paul sent Titus to deal with the troublesome Corinthian church. Scholars are not sure who started the Corinthian church, but when Paul discovered that there were no elders, he sent Titus to organize and supervise this church (Titus 1:5). Paul wrote this letter to guide Titus, telling him to teach the believers how to live lives that honor God. In chapter 1, he emphasized godly leadership and in chapter 2, he taught gracious behavior and good deeds within the church family.
We live in a world where many people do not know the good news of Christ, but they know us. May we be like Titus and Nelson Bell and share the love of Christ with all we meet. Let us bloom where we are planted and teach the love of Jesus.
Prayer: God help me to be a good representative of the Gospel. Help me to share the love of Christ with all that I meet. Help me to draw others to You. Amen.
Titus 2:10 – “In every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.”
