Buy One, Get Two Free!
You know it’s the holiday season when everywhere you go there are super sales. I saw a grocery store advertising “Buy One Get One Free!”. Lo and behold, I saw a TV ad for suits that said, “Buy One and Get Two Free”. Amongst all these deals, there is one that continues to stand out. This is a deal that has stood out for 2000 years. This deal doesn’t require rainchecks or even getting up early so one can be at the store when the store opens.
This deal is salvation through Christ. This deal is freedom from Satan’s power and as a bonus, a personal relationship with God himself. (John 8:36) It’s the only deal I have ever heard of that lets you start over and be something better. (I Corinthians 5:17) The best part of this is something you won’t find in any stores – it’s already been paid for. This life-changing deal was paid for by God himself, who came down to die so that we would not have to. (spiritually) (Romans 5:8)
All this deal requires us to do is to “cash in the coupon.” All we have to do is realize that without God, you have nothing… and without God you cannot be freed from our sins. (Romans 3:23) Once you realize this, all you have to do is to ask God to forgive you, and change your life because you know that Jesus has already paid the price for your sins.
If you have not already accepted this deal, contact your pastor or call me (804-521-1157). If you have already accepted this deal, then you know how much joy it has brought to your life. (Romans 5:1) You know how amazing it is to have a personal relationship with a God who loves you so much, that He died to save you. This Christmas Season, I ask you to share this “good deal” with others so they too will know that Jesus came to live and die for each of us. I ask you to share this wonderful news with everyone, so they too can be filled with “joy”. (Mark 16:15)
Prayer – Dear God may we accept and receive this “salvation” through Christ, this Christmas. May we so filled with joy that we want to share it with others. Amen.
Romans 5:19 – For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
