Korean UMC of Greater Washington Partners with DevCo
In April 2019, leaders of Korean United Methodist Church of Greater Washington (KUMCGW) began the church’s $3.6M reconstruction project of Wesley Hall. The building will be used as a multi-purpose center with a primary focus on youth basketball and lectures. Although leadership initiated a capital campaign to fund the construction project’s costs, a short fall of funds was needed to complete the expansion. Pastor Young Hoon Kim and the leadership team decided to approach the Development Company (DevCo) to assist with the funding of this project. Through a capital campaign and expansion loan program with DevCo, KUMCGW was able to complete the project while turning its vision and dream into a reality. Since the project is now completed, KUMCGW can continue to focus on serving the Korean community of Greater Washington area.
