God’s Beautiful World
I get up early every morning and take a walk around my neighborhood. Every year around this time, we would often see a mallard and a hen behind a large bush, sitting on a nest full of eggs. The eggs would hatch, and at the right time the ducks would bring their young to our pond to show them how to swim. The bush was cut down this year, and I haven’t seen the mallard and hen.

If you take a look at Job 38, you will see how God took Job on quite a nature walk. Job needed some answers from God, and verse 1 tells Job that God is in control of his situation. What Job saw in his journey with God through creation is exactly what Job needed. God reminded Job of His grand design for the world. In verses 6-7, Job received an explanation of the natural world, “Who laid the cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together, and all the angels shouted for joy?”
Job 38:1 says, “Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm.” God didn’t show up with a gentle whisper, but with flashes of lightning and the roaring voice of dark clouds. (Job 37:1-5) God used the beauty and wonder of the world to show Job how much He loved him.

Prayer – Dear God, thank You for creating such a magnificent and fascinating world. Help me to appreciate Your workmanship and realize You’re in control. Amen.
