Life is Hard

God seems to understand us. Sometimes we struggle when life feels like a storm. We need to be reminded of God’s faithfulness, especially when the future looks dark.
Psalm 107 is a song of thanksgiving. God is our loving and merciful Deliverer. God is our Savior, Protector, and Provider when we are in crisis. The Psalmist describes how God has redeemed and rescued His people from adversity, bondage, foolish ways, dangers at sea and death. Verse 41 says God will save those who turn to Him for help. The Psalmist closes his song with an invitation, “Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord.” (v. 43)
No matter what “storms” we are facing, God will settle our storms “to a whisper” and guide us to a place of refuge (vv. 29-30). We may not get relief in our preferred time, but we can trust God to keep the promises He has given us. God’s enduring hope will outlast any storm.
Prayer – God, I thank you for giving me hope in the middle of life. You give me hope no matter what’s going on, and You stand with me in the middle of the storm. Amen.
Psalm 107:29 – “He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”
