He Is Risen
Luke makes clear that Jesus is the one in control. Luke aims to inspire awe in us for Jesus. Even though the odds seemed stacked against him, it turns out that everyone has played into Jesus’ plan. The resurrection of Jesus is the most astounding event in the history of the world. It’s more than Jesus coming back from the dead. Elisha had raised a dead boy to life and Jesus himself had raised several people. The thing that made Jesus’ resurrection so astounding is the fact that it was permanent. Jesus is still alive! Jesus overcame death forever.
Jesus’ death and resurrection changed death for all of us. Jesus demonstrated his power over death and we can have hope that He will conquer our death as well. Many of Jesus’ followers will die but because of Jesus, all who follow Him will one day be raised back to life.
Jesus ushered in a new life for all of us. No longer will life end in death and that will be the end. Now life will end in death and if we believe in Jesus, Jesus says He has gone ahead of us to prepare a place for us that where He is, we too can be.
We celebrate Christmas and are happy that Jesus was born and came into the world in the form of a baby. We have all kinds of celebrations but Easter is the most important one. Easter is the event that reminds us that God gave us His Only Son to come and live among us and die for all of us. His Son was resurrected on the third day and death is no longer final. We will all die a physical death but because Jesus was resurrected there is eternal life for everyone who believes! Christ is Risen Indeed!
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for taking control of this world. The world can be cruel sometimes, and life is fragile. You are in control and have defeated death. Thank you Jesus! Amen.
Luke 24:5-6 – Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you…..”
