Find Your Joy
Author: Diana Davis
In this roller coaster of anxiety, to hope, to fear, to hope, to just wanting this awful scenario over, I struggled for the right words…my bucket was getting empty. I struggled some days with sadness over what has happened to God’s creations and hoped that something little would happen that would remind me that even within all of this mess, there is JOY. I struggle to find my joy most days, but that doesn’t make me stop hoping.
Yesterday the sky was a beautiful blue, with nary a cloud, and we ate McDonald’s sandwiches in our car with the windows down. Last night the moon was glowing brightly over the darkened landscape. Today, the sun is streaming in my window and the wind is blowing (I was often told that the wind was actually the Holy Spirit moving on the earth). God has not forsaken us; He’s giving us a chance to stop and listen to Him; and a chance to think of and pray for others. There is nothing greater than the God that stands behind us and beside us and the power of HOPE. God is with us today; God is still with us tomorrow; and God will be with us when this is all over and HE claims the victory. Take up your armor—love, hope, and prayer—and find your joy. I pray you are safe; I pray you are uplifted by these words He has given me.
In His time, and His alone, this will all pass.
Amen.
Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
