Do You Have Bills?

I pay bills twice a month, and sometimes the pile of bills seems to be never-ending.  Does your money ever run out before all the bills are paid? I think we know how the disciples must have felt that day in the countryside looking at the food they had on hand and the crowd numbering in the thousands. Jesus commanded them to give the people something to eat. The disciples probably looked at the loaves and fishes and then looked at the crowd and said, “But…”

Have you ever tried to put a twin sheet on a king-sized mattress? It doesn’t work, and this may be the way you feel when you’re trying to make ends meet. Are you encumbered with debt? Are you upside down in a car loan or mortgage? Do you have credit card bills that rise faster than your payments?

As the story of the loaves and fishes shows, God is a master of multiplication. He knows how to turn a little into a lot.

When you humble yourself before Him and submit your financial situation to His principles, He can take what you have and multiply it to more than you can imagine. Money miracles are not too hard for God!

Sometime the miracle is dramatic and instantaneous. At other times, it is a gradual process of debt retirement. It may indeed require some sacrifice and hard work on our part. The greatest miracle of all is that God forgives our mismanagement and debt even as He meets our need for daily bread.

Luke 9:16-17 – “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”
